Background and Responsibilities: Team Specific Structure and Responsibilities: Team is responsible for generating risk and pricing data for rates and currencies businesses. It covers development, infrastructure, and project management located in London, New York, and Chennai & Mumbai, India. Role Specific Responsibilities: - Work alongside the New York-based front-end team, interfacing with other teams to determine risk reporting requirements of the rates & currencies business groups
- Work with the development and support teams to design and implement solutions, for requirements within the application framework
- Participate in the general design and development of the core application(s), and
- Provide support as needed.
Experience Required: Essential: - Proven expertise of the full software development life cycle (SDLC) and delivery.
- Application development experience in Java. This should be core server-side Java rather than J2EE.
- Expertise in working with relational database technologies, preferably Oracle PL/SQL. Should have been actively involved in the design and development of application databases.
- Strong numerical skills, ideally with a numerate degree.
- Expertise in Financial Risk Management applications, with knowledge of financial mathematics, including how instruments are priced, and risk is measured.
- Expertise in scripting languages, such as Python, TCL, general Unix Shell scripting.
Secondary: (Not required but preferred) - Application development experience in C#.
- Application development experience in .NET, with focus on client-side applications.
Personal Attributes Required: - Minimum 3 years experience of working in a technology development environment.
- Comfortable working in high pressure environment.
- Ability to work closely with business groups including trading, finance, technology, and market risk.
- Self-motivated & proactive.
- Conforms to deliverable deadlines.

Key Responsibilities: - Interface with clients and application developers to make sure that the functionality of the application is in consistent with the business and client requirements.
- Create functional requirements specifications for the developers to meet all the business requirements
- Be able to provide clear business understanding for project teams (Development, Release Management and Production Support).
- Adherence to the CIBTech Standard Development Lifecycle (SDLC) is required.

Mandatory Skills/Experience: - Candidate is currently performing at the Business Analyst level with good business and competitive understanding of Payment Processing

Systems analyst and C++ programmer within the E-Trading division

This is a career opportunity for individuals in the Fixed Income Business. The Fixed Income business aims to be one of the leading liquidity providers in the derivatives and the Government bond markets, and to offer an integrated sale, trading and research service to the client base comprising investor business, corporates, financial institutions and hedge funds. The product offering includes Government Bonds, interest rate swaps, basis swaps, interest rate options & swaptions, FRAs and caps / floors. The position falls within the E-Trading division of a large Financial Institution. Systems and applications supported would be a combination of In-house development and vendor applications, using a variety of technologies.
The selected candidate would join a team of analyst/programmers to work on C++ server and client side components. Responsibilities Include: - Analysis, Development, Testing
- Carrying out all steps of the development lifecycle to deliver new versions of components for E-Trading, namely:
- Liaising with business representatives to determine requirements - Analyzing those requirements to find the most appropriate method for incorporating them into existing systems
- Documenting the changes
- eveloping those requirements
- Unit / system / regression / performance testing those requirements
- Reviewing code produced by others
- Working with the business representatives during the UAT stage - Supporting the implementation of each new code release - Maintaining the project standards and ensuring that they are adhered to, as well as proactively trying to add to these standards whenever possible
To qualify, candidates must have: - A degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong Communication
- Must be able to communicate effectively with the trading desks to get requirements, handle issues and manage expectations
- Must be able to communicate effectively with other development team members, other project members, other managers and users, gauging the level of technical knowledge of the audience in these communications
- Experience:
- Strong commercial experience as analyst/developer
- Strong fixed income, rates experience
- Good knowledge of ECNs and Market View
- Strong experience with relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server)
- Good exposure to software design
- Good exposure to multi-threaded programming
- Must be self-motivated, setting a high level of professionalism and excellence
Job location: New York The successful candidate should be self-motivated, setting a high level of professionalism and excellence. He/She must be able to enhance and support front, middle and back office applications and systems that are used for Fixed Income business globally. It is also required that the selected candidate should have a good appreciation of the software quality lifecycle, with emphasis on the importance of the testing stages.
